Show Me Japan: Nankinmachi 南京町

Buddhist monk slowly traversing the few blocks of Nankinmachi (Kobe's Chinatown), offering prayers to each storefront as he passes.

Photograph is my entry for this weeks Show-Me-Japan (Vol.1 Issue 7).

  1. What a beautiful scene! And perfect for the New Year, too. We could all do with a Buddhist monk offering some prayers for us, too. :-)

  2. A great "day-in-the-life-of" photo (and the description really adds to the documentary aspect). Love all the red lanterns too.

  3. Fantastic night photo. I guess that Buddhist monk has been staying still by chanting while photographing!
BTW, I like a new header photo of RX-78 very much!!!

  4. Thanks all, happy New Year to you!

    Y. the monk was standing still while chanting and the folks in the background were walking away so I got a little movement in the image. Wish it had been a bit more crowded to get more movement though. Glad you like the new header, I was hoping it was not too indulgent on my part :)

  5. Fantastic pic, love it! Was struggling to find a 'like' button - guess this means I need to stay off Facebook for a bit. Big "Like" to it anyway! ^^
